The Pincheiro building has a tradition and history linked to Pobra do Caramiñal and its evolution through the ages. It is the house of the Neira family, whose inhabitants, described below, form a clan that has been settled in this building for centuries and is directly linked to the Pincheiros seamen’s guild that developed in Pobra from the beginning of the 19th century.

For as long as man has existed, he has always had a clear awareness of the phenomenon of life and death, and of an existence or prolongation of life beyond death. They interpreted the development of their life and death through the stars: The sun and the moon rule the day to day and direct time (days, months, years…), both representing light and clarity (good) as opposed to darkness and obscurity (evil).
Four large mosaics and a smaller one form a perfect square within the rectangle to insert the sociological element of Pobra: the culture of the sea lived throughout the centuries by the Neira family. They are real family scenes that tell the story of the three families.

In the centre of the façade is the depiction of human behaviour throughout a person’s life through 6 petroglyphs and guild laudas together with calendars and deer figures that zigzag from right to left.
